
Trial Attorney – In-House Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Advocate for the interests of the insured and Sentry in the defense of claims.
• Ensure there are no conflicts of interest between the policyholder and Sentry.
• Manage a complete caseload of cases ranging from minimally to moderately complex, representing insureds through trial as needed.
• Provide updates and communicate with policyholders and claims associates regarding the status of litigation, strategies, and developments of cases.
• Aid in the preparation of various forms utilized within the department, including pleadings, discovery documents, jury instructions, dispositive motions, and correspondence.
• A Bachelor’s degree along with a Juris Doctor Degree.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in taking and defending depositions, making court appearances, and securing expert witnesses.
• A valid license to practice law in California, in good standing.
• Proven capability to engage effectively with individuals in situations involving conflict and controversy.
• Ability to self-manage and function as an attorney handling a full caseload with minimal daily supervision.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
