Trial Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Advocate for clients during court trials, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.

• Formulate case strategies and deliver arguments before judges and juries.

• Perform legal research and draft necessary pleadings, motions, and briefs.

• Interview witnesses, collect evidence, and prepare thoroughly for trial.

• Negotiate settlements and plea agreements as appropriate.

• Offer legal counsel and guidance to clients regarding litigation issues.

• Collaborate effectively with legal teams, paralegals, and investigators.

• Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedents.

• Oversee and mentor junior attorneys and support staff.

• Review and evaluate complex employment law documents and contracts.

• Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

• Engage in client development and business generation initiatives.

• Maintain comprehensive case files and documentation.

• Create and manage litigation budgets.

• Coordinate with expert witnesses and consultants.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

• Over 5 years of litigation experience, ideally in class actions or complex civil litigation.

• Experience in trials, including depositions, motions, and courtroom advocacy.

• Strong understanding of procedural rules relevant to class actions (e.g., Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure).

• Proven experience in managing multi-million dollar class action settlements.

• History of successful class certification motions.

• Exceptional skills in legal writing, research, and analysis.

• Strong negotiation skills and oral advocacy capabilities.

• Ability to juggle multiple cases and adhere to tight deadlines.

• Proficient in litigation technology and document management systems.

• Advanced knowledge of e-discovery platforms and legal research tools.
