Trenchless Technology Specialist

📋 Description

• Assist in the planning, design, and construction of trenchless conveyance infrastructure projects primarily in the Eastern United States, with opportunities to support projects nationwide.

• This position serves as a senior technical role dedicated to ensuring excellence in delivery, managing risks, and implementing best practices for trenchless technologies, including micro-tunneling, tunneling, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), jack-and-bore, pilot tube methods, and other related trenchless construction techniques.

• Create, uphold, and guarantee the uniform application of technical standards, guidelines, and best practices across all projects and teams.

• Collaborate with project delivery teams nationally to achieve project objectives, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices to ensure consistent technical delivery while minimizing risks throughout the project lifecycle.

• Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, comprehending their requirements and formulating customized technical solutions.

• Contribute to the development of technical training and mentoring programs within the Practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the assigned technical area.

• Usually certified in the SMS Framework and advancing through the SMS competencies.

• Typically possesses 10-15+ years of progressive experience in delivering trenchless and underground utility infrastructure projects from planning through construction.

• Practical experience with one or more trenchless delivery methods (e.g., microtunneling, HDD, jack-and-bore, or tunneling), including support for design and construction-phase services.

• Solid understanding of geotechnical principles applicable to trenchless and underground construction, including soil/rock behavior, groundwater conditions, ground improvement, and excavation/support systems.

• Acquainted with various project delivery methods, including progressive design-build, design-build, and construction manager/general contractor (CMGC).
