Travelling Wind Technician – Electrical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Reporting to the Service Director, the Traveling Wind Farm Service Technician plays a vital role in delivering operational support across our national fleet.

• This position is essential for maintaining site performance, providing on-site technical leadership, and facilitating quick troubleshooting of intricate electrical assets.

• You will act as a liaison between site management, internal engineering teams, and our clients to guarantee optimal turbine availability and fleet efficiency.

• This position will necessitate frequent travel to our various wind farm locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At a minimum, possess a registered Workers License Electrical (A-Grade or equivalent).

• Demonstrated prior experience in the Onshore Wind sector or a similar heavy industry (minimum five years) is highly valued.

• Must be designated as the Electrical Supervisor in accordance with the Registered Electrical Contractors license and hold the position of Nominated Qualified Supervisor - Electrical on behalf of the company.

• Understanding of basic AC/DC electrical circuits and capability to troubleshoot and perform circuit analysis (24VDC, 166VDC, 120, 230, 400, 575, 690VAC);

• Proven experience in High Voltage switching and operations.

• Possess a current High Voltage operating certificate or the ability to obtain one.

• Skilled in fault finding for electrical and hydraulic equipment.

• Trained to an intermediate level in computer skills.

• Must be capable of climbing wind turbines and performing physically demanding tasks at heights.

• Experience working in remote locations and independently.

• Should be willing to travel more than 65% of the year.
