This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Executes a diverse array of specialized tasks and intricate evaluations, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency care for patients transported by rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and ground.
• Accurately documents pertinent information for assessment and treatment throughout stabilization and transport.
• Records precise and complete billing details for patient transports.
• Ensures effective and timely communication among management, internal teams, and external clients.
• Engages in activities that bolster public relations and marketing initiatives.
• Enhances knowledge relevant to the flight paramedic position by attending mandatory meetings, reviewing charts, assessing equipment, participating in skill labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education sessions pertaining to the care and transport of critically ill and/or injured patients.
• Completes all annual recurrent competency requirements.
• Maintains an active paramedic certification along with any other certifications mandated by policy.
• Operates clinically under the licensure of the program's Medical Director.
• Reports indirectly to the program's Manager of Clinical Services and the National Director of Clinical Standards.
• Responsible for understanding and executing duties within the regulations and scope of practice defined by the local Department of Health Services.
• Must hold an active paramedic certification in the state of employment.
• A minimum of three years (five years preferred) of current Paramedic field experience in a high-volume 911/pre-hospital service.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/ITLS; NRP is preferred.
• Instructor certifications are preferred.
• Must obtain FP-C certification within twenty-four months of hire.
• Flight or transport experience is preferred.
• Must successfully complete the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program.
• Effective interpersonal skills are necessary for interaction with all personnel levels and external customers.
• Basic computer skills for email, electronic charting, etc., are required.
• A Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre-placement physical exam, including a functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds).
• Must maintain body weight below 235 lbs.
