This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conducts a variety of specialized tasks and intricate evaluations, including the diagnosis, therapy, and emergency care of patients transported by rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and ground methods.
• Accurately documents pertinent information related to assessment and treatment throughout the stabilization and transport process.
• Ensures precise and thorough billing information is recorded for patient transports.
• Facilitates effective and timely communication among management, internal teams, and external customers.
• Engages in activities that bolster public relations and marketing initiatives.
• Keeps up-to-date with the knowledge required for the flight paramedic role by participating in mandatory meetings, chart reviews, equipment assessments, skill labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education related to the care and transport of critically ill or injured patients.
• Completes all annual recurrent competency requirements.
• Holds an active paramedic certification along with any other certifications mandated by policy.
• Must possess an active paramedic certification in the state of employment.
• A minimum of three years (five years preferred) of current Paramedic field experience in a high-volume 911/pre-hospital environment.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/ITLS. NRP certification is preferred.
• Instructor certifications are favored.
• FP-C certification must be obtained within twenty-four months of hire.
• Prior flight or transport experience is preferred.
• Must successfully complete the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program.
• Effective interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with personnel at all levels and external customers.
• Basic computer skills for email and electronic charting are required.
• A Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
• Must pass a pre-placement physical exam, including a functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, ability to lift up to 100 pounds), drug screening, and background check.
• Body weight must be maintained below 235 lbs.
