This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the Federal Aviation Administration Eastern Service Area by overseeing construction for various projects.
• Supervise construction activities, track progress and challenges, and ensure adherence to project scope, timeline, and goals.
• Provide on-site construction oversight, coordination, and quality assurance services.
• Manage and lead extensive construction projects and field operations.
• Act as the main point of contact for contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure contractor compliance with safety regulations, legal standards, and contract stipulations through field supervision and quality assurance in construction.
• Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks, manage deviations, and tackle technical and construction-related issues.
• Review Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, and work plans.
• Assist with engineering coordination, constructability evaluations, and design modifications driven by field conditions.
• Support inspections, commissioning processes, and project closure, including resolving punch list items.
• Maintain documentation and reports on as-built conditions.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and status to stakeholders.
• Create solutions for complex technical issues using independent analysis and engineering expertise.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Over 4 years of experience in the construction of commercial, industrial, or government facilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques, plans/specifications, building materials, relevant codes, and quality standards.
• Strong ability to effectively collaborate with contractors, engineers, and government representatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and construction document review software such as Bluebeam or similar tools.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to meet travel requirements, including holding a valid driver’s license and passport.
• Capacity to perform field duties in active construction settings, navigate uneven surfaces, and operate in diverse environmental conditions.
• Competence to access elevated work areas using ladders and stairs up to 12 flights, especially when elevators are out of service.
• Ability to work in mechanical and equipment rooms with high noise levels and ongoing construction activities.
• Occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• A Professional Engineering license or progress toward obtaining licensure is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project is preferred.
• Previous experience with FAA or government projects, particularly in construction supervision or field oversight, is preferred.
