• Oversee and guarantee the prompt payment of freight invoices to carriers.
• Examine freight invoices that have been rejected for payment by the freight audit provider, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between the provider and the carrier.
• Ensure that all freight invoices are correctly coded for internal rebilling to the relevant UMG department or Label group.
• Review and submit shipment documentation to facilitate the processing of carrier invoices.
• Assist in the periodic auditing of carrier payments conducted by the freight audit provider.
• Generate and distribute shipment reports, freight expenditure metrics, and cost reports.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the UMG Supply Chain Team, UMG Label Groups, and carriers.
• Track shipments, identify and submit freight claims, and follow up with carriers for resolution and payment processing.
• Provide support to the transportation team with bid requests, carrier selection, scheduling, and monitoring outbound/inbound loads to ensure timely delivery.
• Create shipment documentation, customs forms, and schedule appointments.
• Knowledge of transportation modes, costs, and carrier tariffs.
• Ability to comprehend, interpret, and analyze carrier tariffs.
• Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS) or an order management system.
• Familiarity with supply chain concepts and transportation documents (BOL, DR, CI).
• Strong computer skills, including extensive experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• High attention to detail.
• Capability to analyze data and trends, drawing informed conclusions based on data.
• Experience in consumer products, retail operations, or e-commerce is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience with a proven, positive record as a Transportation Analyst, Logistics Analyst, or Transportation Coordinator, or in a similar role.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a customer or vendor-facing position.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
