
Transformer Service & Test Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Conduct hands-on assembly, repairs, and maintenance for transformers and substation apparatus equipment, including mechanical and electrical connections inside or on the transformer.
β’ Proficiency in executing all mechanical and electrical connections, operating the oil processor, and performing a comprehensive battery of transformer tests (e.g., Doble, Megger, etc.).
β’ Provide maintenance services, including internal tank and LTC inspections, leak and gasket repairs, parts replacements, painting, and additional tasks as required.
β’ Execute oil processing tasks such as vacuum filling, retro-filling, fuller's earth reclamation, degasification, dehydration, and re-inhibits, utilizing both large vacuum processing rigs and small portable processing equipment for mineral oil, ester-based, and synthetic electrical insulating fluids.
β’ Assemble and disassemble transformers for commissioning, relocation, and decommissioning purposes.
β’ Act as the point of contact for customer interactions throughout the duration of the project.
β’ Oversee technicians and provide leadership throughout the project to ensure that all tasks are performed safely, on time, and with the highest quality standards.
β’ Offer technical support and assistance to the sales team as needed for quoting purposes.
β’ Accurately complete and submit all project-related supporting documentation in a timely manner.
β’ Required experience varies based on whether you are applying for supervisory or regular technician positions; however, experience with transformers and substation apparatus is essential.
β’ Must possess computer literacy and consistently demonstrate professionalism.
β’ Willingness to travel away from home, whether by driving or flying, is necessary.
β’ A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn new skills are essential qualities.
β’ Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing is mandatory.
β’ A clean criminal record check is required, along with the ability to obtain security clearances.
β’ Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
β’ Experience with substation apparatus and transformer work is required.
β’ Familiarity with Doble and Megger test equipment is advantageous.
β’ A valid driver's license is required; a CDL license is a plus.
