This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Creating, developing, and presenting captivating training materials for CDBGDR grantees and stakeholders, focusing on housing, infrastructure, mitigation, and other program implementation topics, along with compliance and federal grant requirement principles.

• Leading engaging learning sessions that incorporate interactive activities, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing exercises to enhance participant engagement and retention of knowledge.

• Conducting group and individual instructional trainings under the guidance of a project manager, covering a variety of technical, operational, and management areas.

• Contributing to product development initiatives, acting as a subject-matter expert, and potentially taking on roles such as author, researcher, or developer, depending on the needs of each assignment to produce high-quality deliverables.

• Acting as a subject-matter expert for HUD disaster recovery programs, providing content expertise during training delivery and reflected in product creation.

• Tailoring content to specific audiences based on their unique needs, learning capabilities, and other relevant factors.

• Providing training on regulatory and grant-specific requirements, which include but are not limited to policies and procedures, national objectives, procurement, coordination with other federal funding sources, labor standards, citizen engagement, and overall compliance.

• Ensuring that all developed materials are accurate, consistent, and compliant with regulations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Organizational Management, Education, Public Policy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.

• At least 8 years of experience working directly with CDBG-DR programs, HUD programs, or other relevant affordable housing initiatives.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience using various training platforms to conduct both in-person and virtual trainings, as well as designing and delivering training and technical assistance (TTA) services.

• Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills for both virtual and in-person classroom environments.

• Proven knowledge of the implementation of housing, community and economic development, and disaster recovery programs at the state and/or local levels.

• Willingness to travel occasionally.
