Training and Technical Assistance Attorney – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Deliver training, technical support, and resources to assist Immigration Legal Services (ILS) practitioners.

• Organize a training calendar for monthly webinars by selecting topics and preparing the necessary materials.

• Develop practice advisories, templates, and additional written resources.

• Compile legal updates, resources, training opportunities, and news articles for a weekly e-newsletter.

• Engage in the enhancement of assessment tools for ILS programs.

• Respond to legal inquiries from ILS practitioners in local offices and partner organizations.

• Facilitate and support the delivery of Basic Immigration Law Trainings.

• A mature and personal Christian faith.

• A strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.

• A passion for serving and empowering the Church to create a positive impact in vulnerable communities.

• A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and the ability to meet MVR standards.

• A licensed attorney in a U.S. jurisdiction, in good standing in all jurisdictions where admitted.

• A minimum of five years of recent experience in family-based and humanitarian-based immigration law.

• A strong dedication to legal ethics and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Proven oral and written communication skills.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the capability to effectively manage multiple projects.

• Self-driven, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds; capable of handling sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.

• Experience in trauma-informed practice.

• Mentoring abilities.

• Experience in training in both virtual and in-person settings.
