Trainer for CAD and Artificial Intelligence in Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Providing hands-on, job-centric training on CAD systems, Generative Design, and the professional application of AI in engineering.

• Assisting mechanical engineering professionals in their transition to contemporary digital product development.

• Aiding participants in completing design assignments more efficiently with AI support.

• Instructing on the effective and suitable use of generative AI tools.

• Leading participants in the critical assessment of AI-generated technical solutions.

• Enhancing modern CAD and engineering workflows.

• Facilitating the responsible and cost-efficient integration of AI into daily professional tasks.

• Guiding participants through the digital engineering process—from design tasks and AI-supported analysis to generative variant development, technical evaluation, optimization, documentation, and practical execution.

• Empowering participants to utilize new technologies thoughtfully and successfully.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or technical training in mechanical engineering, product development, design engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in design engineering, product development, or CAD engineering.

• Extensive knowledge of at least one professional CAD system, such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion.

• Practical experience with parametric design and contemporary CAD workflows.

• Comprehensive knowledge of current AI applications in engineering and CAD.

• Demonstrated experience using generative AI solutions productively, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar systems.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted features in modern CAD systems, including Generative Design or automated optimization.

• Capability to evaluate AI-generated results on a solid technical foundation and critically analyze them.

• Strong grasp of the opportunities, limitations, risks, and quality standards related to generative AI.

• Experience in delivering technical training to adults or comparable training experience.

• Ideally, background in Generative Design and topology optimization.

• Awareness of current advancements in AI for engineering.

• Experience in analyzing and optimizing design processes.

• Proficiency in parametric modeling and automated variant generation.

• Experience with prompt engineering for technical applications.

• Expertise in incorporating AI into existing engineering workflows.

• Experience assessing the technical feasibility, manufacturability, and functionality of AI-generated solutions.

• Understanding of data protection, copyright, and responsible AI usage in a corporate context.

• Experience in coaching, project work, or practical knowledge transfer.

• Preferred: Experience with Autodesk Fusion Generative Design or similar solutions.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Autodesk AI, SolidWorks AI, CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE AI, or similar platforms.

• Preferred: Experience with BIM-based AI applications.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other visual scripting tools.

• Preferred: Experience with automation tools such as Python, Power Automate, or n8n.

• Preferred: Understanding of digital product development, including Digital Twins, PLM, or simulation.

• Preferred: Experience with AI-assisted documentation and knowledge management.

• Preferred: Knowledge of modern cloud CAD systems.

• Preferred: AEVO certification or a comparable educational qualification.

• Several years of hands-on experience as a design engineer or development engineer in mechanical engineering.

• Active utilization of modern AI tools in everyday engineering tasks.
