Trainer for CAD and Artificial Intelligence in Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Instruct students on the principles and possibilities of AI in engineering.

• Provide education on AI-enhanced methodologies during the design process.

• Teach contemporary CAD workflows incorporating AI support.

• Educate on Generative Design and the automation of design variant creation.

• Guide students in AI-assisted decision-making throughout product development.

• Teach AI-driven error detection and quality assurance techniques.

• Instruct on evaluating and validating AI-generated design outcomes.

• Train on the successful incorporation of AI into existing development and design workflows.

• Deliver engaging, practical, and audience-centric training for the “Smart Design: AI Skills for CAD Professionals” qualification.

• Clearly articulate the genuine added value AI brings to the design cycle and highlight areas where technical expertise is indispensable.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree or technical training in mechanical engineering, design engineering, product development, or a related field.

• Minimum of two years of professional experience in design, development, or technical engineering.

• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following CAD systems: Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Fusion, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.

• Familiarity with parametric design and modern CAD workflows.

• Solid comprehension of product development and design processes within mechanical engineering.

• Practical experience in leveraging AI throughout the development and design phases.

• Experience in requirements analysis and concept development.

• Background in developing technical solutions.

• Proficiency in design and modeling.

• Experience with developing generative design variants.

• Skills in optimizing components and assemblies.

• Experience in the technical evaluation of solution variants.

• Familiarity with error detection and quality enhancement methods.

• Experience in preparing technical documentation, specifications, and bills of materials.

• Proficient in using generative AI systems such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.

• Capability to critically evaluate AI-generated outcomes concerning functionality, feasibility, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.

• Preferred: Experience with AI functionalities in modern CAD systems.

• Preferred: Experience in Generative Design and topology optimization.

• Preferred: Awareness of current advancements in AI for design and engineering.

• Preferred: Experience in optimizing development and design workflows.

• Preferred: Knowledge of parametric variant design techniques.

• Preferred: Experience in prompt engineering for technical applications.

• Preferred: Understanding of data protection, copyright, and responsible AI use within a corporate setting.

• Preferred: Experience supporting practical projects or workshops.

• Advantageous: Familiarity with Autodesk Fusion Generative Design or comparable solutions.

• Advantageous: Knowledge of Autodesk AI, SolidWorks AI, or CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE AI.

• Research expertise in artificial intelligence or a specialization in software development is not necessary; what is essential is practical experience in mechanical engineering and the effective use of AI in real-world design and development processes.
