Trail Construction Operator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• The Trail Construction Operator is a construction-oriented role tasked with supporting IMBA Trail Solutions (TS) in the building and operational aspects of mountain bike trails.

• Responsibilities include engaging in physical labor, utilizing hand tools, operating heavy machinery, maintaining and repairing tools and equipment, and executing projects according to the specified scope of work.

• Collaborates with the TS Director of Construction and Operations, TS Construction Manager, Project Managers, TS staff, and subcontractors.

• A standard work week is Monday to Friday, totaling 45 hours.

• Significant travel is necessary. During travel, lodging, meals, incidentals, and mileage are reimbursed at or near GSA rates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators, bulldozers, and track loaders, with a preference for candidates having 1000 hours of experience.

• Previous experience in the mountain biking and cycling sector is preferred.

• Intermediate to advanced mountain biking skills are desired, including the capability to navigate technical trails or jump trails.

• Familiarity with trail construction and maintenance is an advantage.

• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions from IMBA TS Management, Trail Solutions staff, and clients to achieve project objectives.

• Experience in a collaborative team setting.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Personable demeanor, capable of thriving in a customer service-focused environment.

• Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods while performing physical tasks.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Knowledge of small engine and tool preventative maintenance practices is beneficial.

• Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
