Traditional Chinese Localization Games Tester – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Identify, isolate, document, and resolve any localization or linguistic issues, verifying solutions through testing tools or databases.

• Adhere to and complete Test Cases and Checklists to conduct targeted testing and implement relevant testing processes and procedures.

• Compose bug descriptions in accordance with company standards and client requirements.

• Leverage knowledge of user preferences within the Target Market to influence the client's product offerings.

• Actively seek out gaps in test coverage.

• Collaborate with partner teams during product testing.

• Provide constructive feedback regarding gameplay, enjoyment, and game balance, drawing on insights of the target market.

• Fulfill any additional responsibilities deemed suitable for the role.


⛳️ Requirements

• A regular gamer with a passion for the video game industry.

• Native proficiency in Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) (testing language), with exceptional spelling and grammar skills.

• Good command of the English language, as instructions, testing documentation, and team communications will all be in English.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a degree in computer science, game design, or a related field is a significant advantage.

• Outstanding attention to detail, a "can-do" attitude, and strong work ethics.

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

• Capability to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Understanding of digital technologies (mobile devices, tablets, browser tools, etc.).

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

• A driven, positive attitude with the ability to excel and produce results in a fast-paced, innovative, and creative setting.

• Availability to start immediately.

• Experience in game testing.

• Background in software localization or quality assurance, or similar roles in the video games or related industry will be an advantage.

• Familiarity with various testing methodologies.

• Experience in game localization.

• Knowledge of bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Mantis, ADO, Bugzilla, etc.) or CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, etc.).
