This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.
• Oversee and enhance a natural gas trading portfolio with an emphasis on the Midwest and Rockies markets.
• Initiate, formulate, and implement strategies to seize profitable term natural gas trading prospects within the Midwest and Rockies area.
• Continuously monitor and assess relevant market conditions, adjusting trades as required by market dynamics.
• Review current trading processes and collaborate with trading teams to enhance efficiency, transparency, and value-added initiatives.
• Assess, execute, and manage both short and long-term storage positions throughout the Midwest and Rockies, optimizing around seasonal differences, as well as power and industrial demand to generate additional value.
• Leverage experience to create optimization and trading strategies while guiding origination efforts to realize these strategies.
• Effectively communicate summaries of pertinent market conditions and opportunities to higher management within the organization.
• Hold primary accountability for establishing and implementing trading strategies that maximize the value of EQT's contractual pipeline capacity and storage assets.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Innovative and creative mindset with a robust capability to comprehend market conditions and translate them into profitable outcomes.
• Familiarity with regional pipeline and storage infrastructure, understanding supply and demand dynamics, and building relationships with commercial stakeholders.
• Competence in constructing a regional supply and demand model, including knowledge of specific pipeline constraints, flows, costs, storage, contracts, end users, and scheduling.
• Experience in trading physical commodities, futures, swaps, options, storage, indices, and spreads.
• Ability to significantly contribute to the formulation of natural gas commercial strategies.
• Established relationships with commercial stakeholders (producers, pipelines, utilities, end users, traders).
• Understanding of how to calculate both intrinsic and extrinsic values of transportation capacity and storage opportunities.
• Willingness to travel up to 10-20% of the time for customer events, industry conferences, and team meetings.
