Trade Compliance Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assist the Trade Compliance team in the development and management of a thorough export/import framework.

• Support trade compliance reviews and approvals for export licensing, technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits, re-exports, retransfers, and export/import shipments in accordance with UK, EU, and US laws.

• Acquire practical knowledge of UK export licensing requirements for dual-use and military goods and technology.

• Aid in the processing of export shipments in compliance with HMRC, UK Strategic Export Controls, and various foreign export regulations.

• Review and process End User declarations and undertakings.

• Determine export classification and identify necessary license requirements.

• Collaborate with G&H locations to ensure that export authorizations and documentation are correctly in place.

• Prepare and submit export license applications alongside senior trade compliance staff.

• Maintain precise export transaction records in compliance with ITAR, EAR, and other US regulatory standards.

• Ensure consistent adherence to export procedures across G&H locations.

• Review and assess shipping documentation for compliance with regulatory and company policies.

• Maintain trade compliance records.

• Coordinate with internal departments to facilitate compliant trade operations.

• Support the implementation of new process requirements across the organization.

• Assist with reports and audits concerning trade compliance activities.

• Ensure adherence to international trade laws, including HTS classification, ECCN, COO, and FTA requirements.

• Conduct audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews.

• Report to the UK Trade Compliance Manager and collaborate with the US counterpart on Group trade compliance and security initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Established knowledge of import and/or export controls.

• Solid understanding of import and export processes, regulations, and procedures.

• Experience in managing export licenses and/or reviewing export documentation.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify potential compliance issues.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Demonstrated use of structured problem-solving methodologies.

• Prior experience with U.S. Customs regulations and ITAR is preferred.

• Background in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Degree-level qualification in Engineering is preferred but not mandatory.

• Must be eligible to hold and maintain UK Government clearances.

• UK applicants must successfully complete security vetting to meet the UK government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard, including a criminal record check.

• Potential eligibility may be limited by nationality, previously held nationalities, or place of birth due to government security and export control regulations.
