Tissue Recovery Specialist – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Respond swiftly to communications from Ossium regarding the availability of donor recovery.

• Execute vertebral body recovery promptly after organ procurement or when allowed.

• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of Ossium Health and recovery partner protocols to ensure consistent high-quality performance.

• Travel mainly by car, utilizing either your personal vehicle or a recovery partner’s vehicle when authorized, and occasionally by plane to designated facilities for organ procurement.

• Collaborate closely with Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) staff.

• Be prepared to recover a minimum of 4 cases per month to sustain competency levels.

• Document, recover, package, and personally deliver the recovered tissue to Ossium’s processing facility located in Indianapolis.

• Represent Ossium Health with professionalism to partners and clinical staff.

• Consistently follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in an OPO (organ, tissue, ocular recovery) or hospital operating room (OR) environment.

• Ability to travel reliably (by driving or flying) on short notice (typically within 6 hours), primarily within the Indianapolis Metro area, and to other locations throughout Indiana; a valid driver’s license is required.

• Willingness to work outside of standard business hours (evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays) as necessary.

• Proficient in recovery techniques with a strong focus on aseptic practices.

• Solid understanding of anatomy and medical terminology.

• Exceptional communication skills paired with a professional and approachable demeanor.

• Dependability, responsiveness, and meticulous attention to detail.
