This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Effectively encourage patients to settle outstanding medical debts.
• Address objections and delays while proposing payment options for debts.
• Leave messages for consumers detailing contact points using a required script.
• Update customer records with new details, document call outcomes or dispositions, and include any pertinent notes about the call through the system's menu or narrative section.
• Comply with the production standards established for the department and client.
• Ensure accuracy and confidentiality when managing medical records in accordance with HIPAA, federal, state, and company regulations.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
• Prior experience in medical collections is necessary.
• Experience in a call center environment is required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using professional language and grammar.
• Complete understanding and adherence to all federal and state regulations (including HIPAA and FDCPA) regarding collection policies and procedures.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong multitasking abilities and capacity to manage a high volume of calls in a fast-paced setting.
• Exceptional telephone communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Capable of typing at least 25 words per minute.
