This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in the development of new aircraft programs and address thermodynamics-related issues for in-service aircraft.
• Responsibilities include analyzing the performance of ice/fog protection systems, zonal pressure, temperature and flow rate, avionics cooling, and conducting general thermal assessments of systems and structures.
• An understanding of the systems being evaluated and their interactions with the aircraft and other aircraft systems is essential.
• The role involves collaboration with internal systems and structures teams, system suppliers, and flight test teams to address issues, plan testing, analyze, and certify modifications.
• Specifically, this position will support the Global 7000 / 8000 thermodynamic team with activities related to bleed air systems, including the wing ice protection system, environmental control system, ducting system, and more.
• A bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering is required.
• A master's degree with coursework in fluid dynamics, atmospheric icing, and heat transfer would be beneficial.
• Proficiency in MS Office software is necessary, along with familiarity with various aircraft pneumatic systems and their modeling.
• Experience with CATIA V5 and programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, and C/C++ would be advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills, as well as effective written and oral communication abilities, are essential.
