Test Engineer – 6 Month Contract Role

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain automated testing for services.

• Create test scenarios and develop tests that encompass functional use cases for each feature.

• Address asynchronous/event-driven processes and GraphQL API agreements.

• Work collaboratively with teams across Yum services to diagnose bugs and explore failures in various environments.

• Oversee and manage test pipelines.

• Utilize observability tools and test logs to identify and resolve failures.

• Effectively communicate bugs and proactively start discussions to facilitate issue identification and resolution.

• Employ advanced AI tools to improve the development workflow and accelerate delivery speed.

• Assume responsibility for functional use cases and testing of distributed software components.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with test runners such as Mocha.

• Practical experience with UI test automation frameworks, including Playwright.

• Proven, hands-on experience testing event-driven / Pub-Sub systems like MQTT, WebSockets, or SSE.

• Experience in designing tests for message ordering, delivery guarantees, reconnection/retry logic, and asynchronous event assertions.

• Extensive, hands-on experience with testing GraphQL APIs.

• Experience in writing and maintaining tests for nested queries, mutations, and subscriptions.

• Ability to mock schemas/resolvers.

• Experience managing pagination, error responses, and N+1 query challenges.

• Working knowledge of cloud environments and containerized deployments, including Docker images and container registries.

• Familiarity with Git and Git-based workflows, including CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

• Experience in analyzing and correlating application and service logs across multiple services.

• Proficiency in utilizing Jira or similar tools for task and issue tracking.

• Knowledge of Android test automation using frameworks such as Appium.
