Test Automation Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and oversee the testing process and results at the development level.

• Create, develop, and sustain automated tests to verify platform functionality across APIs, microservices, and user interfaces.

• Design and implement integration, functional, and regression tests for distributed systems and platform services.

• Construct and uphold automated API tests for RESTful services and service integrations.

• Collaborate closely with engineers to verify interactions between microservices and platform integrations.

• Engage in manual testing of user stories and new features to ensure requirements and expected system behavior are validated.

• Establish and enhance test strategies, test coverage, and automation frameworks for the platform.

• Contribute automated tests to CI/CD pipelines to facilitate reliable and repeatable deployments.

• Analyze and troubleshoot defects, partnering with engineering teams to reproduce and resolve issues.

• Generate and maintain clear testing documentation and test cases for platform functionality.

• Work in conjunction with engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to uphold quality standards throughout the development process.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar.

• At least 2 years of experience in writing automated tests and creating technical test documentation.

• Proficiency in developing or maintaining automated test frameworks using tools like PyTest, JUnit, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.

• Experience in designing and executing integration tests (including API testing, service-level testing, unit testing, etc.).

• Familiarity with testing and automating tests for REST APIs.

• Experience conducting manual testing of user stories and application features.

• Background in Agile software development environments.

• Ability to swiftly learn new technologies and gain proficiency in unfamiliar domains.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and the capability to identify discrepancies between system behavior and documentation.

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.

• A strong sense of ownership with the capability to drive tasks to completion.
