Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, SDET, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end (E2E), integration, and API testing frameworks from the ground up.

• Build automated quality infrastructure that facilitates swift product development and deployment.

• Create testing frameworks and evaluation systems tailored for AI/LLM-powered applications, including agentic workflows and RAG-based systems.

• Develop automated guardrails, confidence metrics, regression detection, and traceability mechanisms for non-deterministic AI systems.

• Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and continuous delivery.

• Utilize AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot to expedite the development and maintenance of tests.

• Work collaboratively with software engineers to enhance testability and set quality standards across both backend and frontend systems.

• Implement testing strategies for REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication flows, and microservice architectures.

• Monitor application quality in production using observability and analytics tools.

• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, automation, and quality ownership among distributed teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Test Automation Engineer.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright (preferred), Cypress, or Puppeteer.

• Extensive experience in testing REST and GraphQL APIs, including authentication and authorization flows.

• Experience in integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and test data management.

• Demonstrated ability to design and construct testing frameworks from scratch.

• Experience working independently in remote, asynchronous-first environments.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
