Test Automation Engineer, API & Integration, Security Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Design, maintain, and enhance both manual and automated test cases for NIRIS baselines.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, system, and release testing.

• Create, manage, and refactor automated test scripts utilizing frameworks such as Robot Framework, Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.

• Assist with test automation frameworks within the NATO Software Factory (Azure DevOps / GitLab CI/CD).

• Execute interface and interoperability testing for tactical data links and external systems (Link 16, JREAP, OTH-Gold, DIS, VMF, AIS, CESMO, etc.).

• Generate test data and aid in test-event preparation (e.g., CWIX, customer visits).

• Record, monitor, retest, and validate defects using Jira / Zephyr or equivalent tools.

• Create and sustain test documentation: test plans, test cases, execution reports, regression reports, release readiness inputs.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).

• Provide test evidence, KPIs, and release recommendations to facilitate acceptance and governance decisions.

• Proactively identify risks, blockers, dependencies, and opportunities for process enhancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software testing & QA (complex/distributed systems).

• Professional proficiency in English (both oral and written).

• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies.

• More than 3 years of manual testing experience (functional, regression, integration, release).

• At least 3 years of defect management experience (identification, reporting, retesting, verification).

• Minimum of 2 years in API/Interface testing (RESTful services, messaging systems).

• Over 2 years of Web GUI & CLI testing experience.

• At least 2 years of interoperability testing (external systems, data exchange).

• More than 2 years in test automation (Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).

• At least 1 year of scripting experience (Python, Java, Bash, or Ansible).

• 1+ year of experience with containers (Docker or equivalent).

• Proficient in tools: Jira, Zephyr, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines.

• OS troubleshooting skills: Windows Server & Linux (IP, DNS, HTTP, certificates).
