This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• New Business Prospecting: You will be driving to various locations, attending local cattle auctions, engaging with local Livestock, Cattleman's, and Stockman's associations, and building your business pipeline through proactive lead generation. In addition, you will handle inbound leads promptly, balancing administrative tasks with field activities.
• Field Sales Engagement: You are comfortable getting your hands and boots dirty. Discussions about Halter are best held over coffee at a kitchen table, while riding in the horse saddle, or on a side-by-side in a pasture. You spend time on the ranch assisting potential customers before highlighting the value of Halter. Bringing coffee during calving season is a gesture you appreciate, as you recognize the special moments that create significant impacts for our customers.
• Expanding Current Opportunities: You consistently seek new avenues for growth, including enhancing relationships with existing customers using Halter. You understand the importance of nurturing relationships and discovering innovative ways to add value over time. Recognizing that not every rancher will collar all their cows presents a unique opportunity for achieving your goals.
• Achieving Sales Targets: You are not intimidated by high-growth sales targets; instead, you embrace challenges and aim high. As a skilled pipeline manager, you do not hesitate to disqualify leads that aren’t promising. You can manage current deals while keeping an eye on future prospects.
• Customer Account Stewardship: For you, building relationships goes beyond making a sale. Post-sale, you focus on maintaining close connections with customers to ensure their ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and resolve any issues they encounter with Halter’s products. You will also facilitate a smooth transition from sales to customer onboarding and the deployment of Halter to maximize the value customers derive from Halter’s solutions.
• Territory Management: You take great pride in your ownership and the developments you create. Managing an entire territory means giving attention to every area and leaving no stone unturned. You value being the face of your territory, interacting with key stakeholders from various local, state, and federal agencies to foster enduring relationships with regional agricultural groups.
• Customer Onboarding Support: Your sense of ownership extends beyond the sale. You are committed to ensuring that your customers have an exceptional onboarding experience. You actively manage the entire customer experience during the onboarding and the deployment of Halter’s product, facilitating a seamless transition from sales to implementation, even when passing the customer on to other teams within Halter.
• Gathering Field Insights & Feedback: You believe that feedback is crucial not only for the companies you choose to work for but also for how you manage your territory. As the primary contact for collecting customer feedback in your territory, you work diligently to advocate for customer needs.
• Collaborating with Support Teams: You are a natural collaborator, reaching out to colleagues across Halter to quickly resolve any issues your customers face. You escalate problems as necessary and ensure that customers in your territory receive comprehensive support.
• Participating in Industry Events: You seize opportunities at relevant industry and Halter events to generate leads and strengthen existing customer relationships. Your involvement in demonstrations and networking helps expand Halter’s market presence.
• Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: You believe that teamwork enhances strength. You aim to collaborate with the broader team to refine and develop the sales process to suit the US market better. As we grow, your contributions will facilitate greater efficiencies.

• Ranching / Cattle Knowledge: You possess a solid understanding of ranching or cattle operations, recognizing the unique challenges within the industry. This background enables you to connect meaningfully with customers about what matters most.
• Sales & Customer Success Experience: You have a proven track record of creating new business opportunities, engaging in value-based sales conversations, and establishing lasting customer relationships. Your focus is on building relationships rather than transactional sales, aiming for long-term success and expanding existing relationships through upsell opportunities.
• Territory Management Experience: You have experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on both sales and customer success, preferably within agriculture or technology.
• Problem Solving & Collaboration Skills: You are resourceful and quick-thinking, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams to overcome challenges and implement solutions.
• Willingness to Travel: Regular travel within your territory is required to connect with customers and prospects.
