Telephony Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan.

📋 Description

• Design and modernize the telephony infrastructure.

• Collaborate with telecom providers across the US, LATAM, and Europe.

• Optimize telecom resources and costs.

• Create call-handling systems from the ground up for both outbound and inbound traffic.

• Develop integration solutions with the AI platform.

• Enhance reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.

• Manage high call volumes utilizing Kamailio/OpenSIPS and rtpengine.

• Engage in 2nd- and 3rd-level support responsibilities and participate in on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of experience in VoIP and telephony engineering.

• In-depth knowledge of the SIP protocol, including messaging, methods, response codes, and SDP.

• Proficient in troubleshooting signaling and media issues, including NAT and RTP.

• Familiarity with FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, or other B2BUA technologies, including architecture, dialplan development using Lua/XML/conf, SIP profiles, gateways, modules, and performance optimization.

• Experience in developing utilities, tools, and management services for VoIP infrastructure.

• Proficient in at least one programming language.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP and RTP/RTCP.

• Ability to perform traffic analysis using tcpdump, Wireshark, and sngrep.

• Solid Linux administration skills, particularly with Debian or Ubuntu.

• Experience with the Go programming language.

• Familiarity with Kamailio, OpenSIPS, or rtpengine.

• Knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, Ansible, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with large-scale telephony systems.

• Familiarity with ESL and Sofia.

• Experience with Node.js for integration services, FreeSWITCH ESL interaction, and REST API development.

• Background in voice biometrics projects.
