Telehealth Therapist, LMFT, LCSW, LPC - Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Facilitate group therapy sessions within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), overseeing a caseload that spans multiple weekly groups.

• Provide individual therapy to support each patient's treatment advancement.

• Lead sessions focused on family engagement.

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM forms, and relevant evaluations.

• Create and revise individualized master treatment plans featuring measurable objectives.

• Utilize clinical judgment during crises, including conducting risk assessments, de-escalation, and evaluating suicide risk.

• Communicate with referral sources and families about progress and continuity of care.

• Coordinate step-down and discharge planning while connecting patients with legal, financial, and vocational resources.

• Deliver clinical care from intake through to discharge.

• Maintain comprehensive and timely clinical documentation.

• Adapt therapeutic methods to meet the diverse needs of patients.

• Report to the Telehealth Clinical Director, with assistance from the Head of Telehealth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active, unrestricted LMFT, LCSW, or LPC license in California; associate/intern-level pre-licensed credentials are accepted for relevant professional tracks.

• A Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or a related field in human services.

• Strongly preferred: at least 2 years of clinical experience working with substance use disorder and/or mental health populations.

• Strongly preferred: active clinical licensure in three or more states.

• Willingness to pursue licensure in additional states as business needs evolve.

• Preferred: direct experience at an IOP level of care.

• Preferred: familiarity with Kipu EMR systems.

• Preferred: experience managing a full caseload in a virtual environment.

• Working knowledge of clinical care standards for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

• Skills in clinical judgment and crisis intervention, including risk assessment and de-escalation techniques.

• Strong documentation and communication abilities with a focus on regulatory and confidentiality standards.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting while remaining connected to a collaborative care team.
