Occupational Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess patients’ functional capabilities and home settings to determine their needs and safety issues.

• Create individualized treatment plans and convey them to physicians and the care team.

• Instruct and support patients in daily living skills impacted by illness or injury.

• Suggest and guide patients on the use of adaptive equipment, splints, and prosthetic/orthotic devices.

• Keep precise clinical records and promptly inform about any changes in the patient's condition.

• Collaborate with the wider care team to ensure smooth, patient-centered care.

• Educate family members and caregivers regarding the patient’s treatment strategy.

• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and manage home health aide care when OT is the only skilled service.

• Assist in discharge planning as patients transition from home health care.

• Perform additional duties as necessary for patient services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate of an occupational therapy program accredited by both the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

• Active California Occupational Therapy license.

• At least 2 years of clinical OT experience.

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

• Valid driver's license, reliable insured vehicle, and the ability to travel to patient homes.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
