Telehealth Therapist, LMFT, LCSW, LPC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Facilitate group therapy sessions within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), overseeing a caseload that spans multiple weekly groups.

• Offer individual therapy to assist each patient in advancing through their treatment journey.

• Conduct family engagement sessions to establish support systems and enhance continuity of care.

• Complete in-depth biopsychosocial assessments to inform level-of-care determinations and treatment planning.

• Create and finalize master treatment plans featuring individualized, measurable objectives.

• Utilize clinical judgment during crisis scenarios, including risk assessment, de-escalation, and evaluation of suicide risk.

• Maintain communication with referral sources and families to facilitate progress and ensure continuity of care.

• Oversee step-down and discharge planning, linking patients to legal, financial, and vocational resources.

• Deliver consistent clinical care from intake to discharge.

• Keep comprehensive, timely clinical documentation throughout all stages of care.

• Report to the Telehealth Clinical Director with backing from the Head of Telehealth.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary, patient-focused care team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active, unrestricted clinical license — LPC, LCSW, or LMFT is strongly preferred (or applicable state equivalent).

• Associate/Intern-level, pre-licensed credentials are accepted for Professional Counseling, Social Work, and Marriage & Family Therapy tracks.

• Licensure in the state of California is required at the time of hire.

• A Master's degree in social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or a related human services discipline is necessary.

• Active clinical licensure in three or more states is strongly preferred.

• Willingness to pursue licensure in additional states as business needs arise.

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with SUD and/or MH populations is strongly preferred.

• Direct experience at an IOP level of care is preferred.

• Familiarity with Kipu EMR systems is preferred.

• Experience managing a full caseload virtually is preferred.

• Understanding of clinical standards of care for patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders is essential.

• Strong clinical judgment and crisis intervention capabilities, including risk assessment and de-escalation skills.

• Excellent documentation and communication abilities, with a keen focus on regulatory and confidentiality standards.

• Capability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining closely connected to a collaborative care team.
