This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the comprehensive integration and testing of rack electrical solutions, encompassing both high and low voltage systems (AC/DC), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and power distribution units (PDUs) across diverse form factors and product lines.
• Engage in customer interactions and site assessments to comprehend and document deployment limitations while collecting feedback for design enhancements.
• Create precise rack power budgets and model electrical capacity for both existing and prospective high-density server or switch setups.
• Cultivate relationships with electrical and power component suppliers to establish a strong partner ecosystem featuring PSUs, PDUs, bus bars, power shelves, and high voltage equipment.
• Ensure all rack designs comply with safety and certification standards such as NEC/NFPA, IEEE, and UL/IEC.
• Design, review, or incorporate rack PDUs and power-distribution components, including breaker configurations, metering, and load-balancing features.
• Conduct thorough failure-mode analysis, including FMEA and root-cause investigations for electrical defects or field challenges.
• Define, validate, and refine factory electrical testing strategies, encompassing continuity testing, sequencing, load testing, and safety verification.
• Demonstrate high proficiency in developing, updating, and interpreting electrical one-line diagrams for rack-level and row-level power architectures, ensuring accurate representation of power flow, grounding, redundancy, and protection devices.
• Collaborate with Architects, Compliance, Reliability teams, and global vendors to synchronize electrical architectures with overall system design and international data center/power standards (e.g., OCP, ASHRAE, ANSI, TIA-942).
• Generate and maintain design documentation, including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical failures or field issues.
• May undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7+ years of experience in electrical systems integration is required.
• At least 3+ years of specific experience in rack-scale electrical/power design and analysis.
• Strong comprehension of electrical systems, integration strategies, and large-scale program management.
• Familiarity with server design (EIA-310, OCP/ORV3), 48V DC busbar connections, power plugs/receptacles, and power cable routing.
• Expertise in electrical tools and simulations (e.g., AutoCAD, Ansys, PSpice, SCADA, DCIM, etc.).
• Practical experience with electrical safety tests such as hi-pot, ground-bond, leakage current, and continuity checks.
• Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written) paired with strong technical leadership abilities.
