This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Develop innovative designs for targeted customers by implementing key product positioning and supplier strategies.
• Transform these designs into increased sales with strong profitability, leveraging the supplier design registration program for protection.
• Collaborate with Regional Sales teams to formulate technical product, application, and supplier strategies tailored to specific target customers.
• Work in tandem with Outside Sales teams and strategic suppliers, visiting customers to facilitate the design-in of focus products into end customer applications.
• Initiate customer visits to engineering as necessary.
• Assess new potential customers and assist design locations that may eventually procure products from TTI at other locations.
• Keep the designated Outside Salesperson updated on design strategy and project developments.
• Track activities against established plans using the Customer Account Manager tool (CAM) and Opportunity Management System (OMS) reports.
• Hold regular meetings with local Branch Product Managers and General Managers/Outside Sales Managers to discuss the branch's progress towards OMS targets.
• Actively review all OMS activities in their area for new projects that could provide opportunities for their products to be integrated.
• Maintain project data in CAM, updating key activities and the next steps needed to convert related projects.
• Inform sales teams about new products and pertinent total solution applications in collaboration with other TDEs and strategic suppliers as necessary.
• Provide regular product training to suppliers either one-on-one or at suitable distribution events.
• Utilize commercial and business insight to prioritize key projects and ensure collaboration with the right customers to maximize project design conversions, thereby boosting sales revenue.
• Identify potential design opportunities or leads for key NPI products and assess new potential customers for independent development and collaboration with the outside sales team.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Electronics is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in technical support within a distributor or a pertinent supplier, or in a design role for the relevant product technology.
• Comprehensive product and technical knowledge within the distribution sector.
• Familiarity with customer and application knowledge specific to the region or country of responsibility.
• Experience in the NBO Identification and Development process at the customer level.
• Excellent organizational skills for prioritizing tasks, coupled with a methodical approach and project management expertise essential for achieving design conversion.
• Proficient sales and negotiation skills to effectively persuade customers and suppliers to collaborate with TTI and facilitate design conversions.
• Self-motivated and driven, with the capability to work from a home office environment.
• Effective presentation and mentoring skills are essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal skills for relationship building.
• Proficient verbal and written English language abilities.
• Extensive knowledge and a high skill level in all relevant IT systems and MS Office applications.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License, a safe driving record, and be insurable by the company’s liability carrier.
• Willingness to travel (~50%), with variability depending on the assigned territory.
