Technician, EV Charging Field Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Conduct OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions on a wide variety of equipment, from Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers to DC Fast Chargers.

• Execute testing on devices, which includes, but is not limited to, insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imaging, torque assessments, and performance evaluations.

• Diagnose system performance issues and identify/isolate ground faults.

• Collaborate closely with the Planning and Scheduling team to ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and the accurate, timely completion of work orders.

• Analyze site manuals and drawings to guarantee proper service and maintenance of equipment.

• Engage in fieldwork, including electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance of site equipment, site field reporting, work order completion, and additional tasks as required.

• Ensure all site issues are recorded in the work order system and addressed promptly.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in servicing electrical power equipment within the commercial or utility energy sector and/or formal electrical training.

• Robust electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting abilities. While technical expertise in Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, solar power installations, or related power electronics is preferred, it is not mandatory.

• Proficient in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, monitor, and fulfill site work requirements.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.

• Capability to independently analyze and resolve problems with a strong orientation towards achieving results.

• Must possess proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely execute job responsibilities, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers. Interpreter services are not available for this position.
