This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct a technical edit for quality assurance on all documentation before it is delivered to the client.
• Develop and implement uniform writing templates and documentation styles for all technical publications.
• Work closely with subject matter experts when crafting user guides, process documentation, new templates, template revisions, and presentations to grasp project specifications and requirements.
• Evaluate team processes to guarantee efficiency and ensure all facets of the process are documented.
• Verify that technical documentation is thorough and accurate.
• Compile, edit, format, and finalize the monthly progress report.
• Engage in the review process.
• Create, edit, and maintain training materials, brown bag sessions, and instructional supplements to ensure comprehension of processes, as well as review all documentation and training materials to keep them current.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by embracing the customer’s mission and striving for success.
• Transcribe meeting minutes from recordings.
• A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field.
• Equivalent experience or industry certifications may replace formal education; a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field along with 5+ years of Technical Writing/Communications experience in IT or Software development sectors (or a comparable mix of education, certifications, and experience).
• Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to collect technical details.
• Create technical manuals and quick reference guides.
• Utilize established style manuals, including the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS), the Microsoft Manual of Style, and VA style preferences.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Teams, SharePoint, and CoPilot.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining effective communication with supervisors on all activities within the scope of responsibility.
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Expertise in writing, editing, and proofreading at all levels, along with a willingness to do what is necessary.
• Capability to use graphics effectively to convey ideas.
• Ability to revise one's own work or that of others to enhance clarity and persuasiveness in documents or presentations.
• Communicate complex information appropriately to audiences with varying levels of knowledge.
• Function effectively in both a team setting and independently.
• Mentor and coach other technical writers.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance communication.
