This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Hands-on implementation of Akamai's delivery and performance products, creating and sustaining live configurations and demo environments that demonstrate genuine capabilities on actual traffic rather than mere presentations.
• Designing and executing reproducible benchmarking with a documented, defensible methodology, validated against independent third-party measurements, to provide evidence supporting Akamai's performance advantages.
• Crafting reference architectures and demonstrations that clearly convey Akamai's technical differentiation for customers, field teams, and events.
• Taking ownership of the technical explanation of what sets Akamai's distributed network and content delivery platform apart, ensuring that the information remains current as the platform evolves.
• Collaborating directly with engineering to deepen knowledge of network optimization, carrier and telco peering, route optimization, post-quantum cryptography, developer experience, and performance.
• Producing a consistent stream of technical thought leadership, including in-depth blogs, benchmark reports, conference presentations, and demos, strategically timed to align with global and industry events to ensure Akamai is represented with proof during key market moments.
• Partnering with product marketing to anchor positioning, messaging, and competitive content in technical reality.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in technical marketing, solutions or sales engineering, or network engineering within CDN, content delivery, networking, edge, or related infrastructure, along with a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or its equivalent.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with the delivery stack: HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, QUIC, TLS, DNS, caching, routing and peering fundamentals, and the tools necessary to measure these, as well as proficiency in scripting or automation.
• Experience in designing and executing performance benchmarks with a methodology that can be publicly defended.
• Developed demos and reference architectures that have been utilized and trusted by technical audiences.
• Comfortable interacting with network engineers concerning peering, route optimization, and post-quantum cryptography, while also being able to present these implications to a non-technical audience.
• Exceptional technical writing and public speaking abilities, with published works or presentations that you are proud to share.
