Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work in collaboration with engineers and DevOps teams to create clear, concise, and accurate documentation.

• Develop and manage developer guides, API documents, technical tutorials, and system architecture documentation.

• Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and verify technical information.

• Simplify complex technical concepts into user-friendly content designed for developers, DevOps, and enterprise IT professionals.

• Maintain and enhance documentation version control, organization, and usability.

• Contribute to onboarding resources, use case examples, and product release notes.

• Ensure consistency and accuracy across all technical documentation in accordance with NetFoundry’s voice and brand.

• Perform content audits and suggest enhancements to documentation structure and accessibility.

• Collaborate with UX, engineering, and support teams to identify documentation gaps and user pain points.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a software, networking, or cloud infrastructure setting.

• Strong grasp of networking concepts (e.g., Zero Trust, SD-WAN, VPN, TLS, DNS, edge computing).

• Experience in documenting RESTful APIs, SDKs, and command-line tools.

• Familiarity with Markdown, Git, Swagger/OpenAPI, and documentation generation tools (e.g., Docusaurus, Hugo, MkDocs).

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with great attention to detail.

• Capability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, DevOps practices, or cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience in contributing to open-source projects or developer-oriented documentation.

• Ability to create visual aids such as flowcharts, network diagrams, and architecture schematics (e.g., using Lucidchart, draw.io, or similar tools).
