This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluates and selects the most suitable hardware, operating systems, server/desktop, or cloud configurations for IT projects.
• Assesses customer service requests and performs technical and procedural analyses, including risk assessments.
• Crafts and develops tailored technical, business, and/or procedural solutions to fulfill client requirements.
• Creates, develops, and documents technical support specifications for cross-agency initiatives.
• Ensures that the consequences of system modifications are comprehended by users, stakeholders, and other IT professionals.
• Plans, tests, and schedules the deployment of applications and operating systems to guarantee the quality assurance of the final product, including unit testing and systems integration.
• Receives and prioritizes service requests for modifications and additions to systems.
• Allocates tasks to team members as necessary.
• Oversees incidents utilizing the incident management toolset.
• Monitors queues for new incidents, evaluates tickets, and assesses and assigns tickets as needed.
• Provides top-tier technical support for incidents, including liaising with vendors as necessary.
• Conducts daily monitoring and upkeep of system infrastructure, applications, and operating systems.
• Participates in or leads projects, including identifying resource needs.
• Develops project implementation strategies, tracks activity progress, and negotiates plan alterations with project sponsors.
• Reviews all detailed system specifications, schedules, and implementation plans prepared by team members.
• Identifies emerging desktop issues, assesses software and operating system vulnerabilities, and sources or develops solutions.
• Recognizes emerging trends in server and desktop computing, communications, and researches new product offerings.
• Implements the Problem and Change Management process for all server and desktop issues and changes.
• Offers Tier-3 technical support, advice, and guidance for effective business solution delivery.
• Reviews and evaluates business solutions, operating systems, and software application releases to ensure system and data integrity and functionality.
• Produces comprehensive documentation, including infrastructure and application change reports, user manuals, Technical Information Bulletins, etc., and aids in policy, guideline, and standard development.
• Researches technology; monitors and evaluates vendor advisories, industry trends, and best practices; engages with vendors; develops and documents technology and service strategies; conducts feasibility studies; and makes technology recommendations.
• Engages in special or unforeseen projects as assigned, including disaster recovery tests and declarations in accordance with customer contracts.
• A relevant degree or an equivalent combination of pertinent experience, education, and/or training.
• Proficient in technical project planning and coordination of hardware and/or software business solutions in a LAN/WAN Microsoft Windows environment.
• Experience with configuring and managing Service Management software suites such as ServiceNow.
• Skilled in analyzing and resolving complex issues related to Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, and TCP/IP Network problems.
• Technical experience in or administration of one or more of the following technology areas: Advanced Microsoft Operating System configuration such as Group Policy, Active Directory, or creating images for enterprise deployment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (or equivalent product).
• Experience with Software Packaging Tools (e.g., InstallShield, AppAttach, MasterPackager).
• Proficient in software development using Microsoft tools and languages, such as PowerShell.
• Experience with Enterprise Mobile Management products like Airwatch or In-Tune is advantageous.
