Technical Services Engineer – Midstream and Downstream

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support and consultative expertise to clients in the midstream and downstream oil & gas sectors.

• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and Univar sales teams to pinpoint operational challenges, propose application solutions, and enhance asset performance, reliability, and efficiency.

• Act as the technical resource for clients, sales teams, and supplier partners.

• Perform site assessments to analyze customer operations and discover opportunities for enhancement.

• Offer troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical recommendations for customer applications.

• Assist in product implementation, startup activities, and continuous program optimization.

• Create technical proposals, application solutions, and customer presentations.

• Conduct joint visits with sales and supplier representatives to customers.

• Provide product and industry training for clients and internal teams.

• Identify new business opportunities through customer engagement and market analysis.

• Work with suppliers on product development, technical support, and launching new products.

• Participate in industry events, trade shows, and technical meetings.

• Maintain records of customer activity, opportunity tracking, and market intelligence reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in technical sales, field service, field engineering, process engineering, or industrial operations.

• Experience in supporting customers within the midstream or downstream oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, terminal, or pipeline sectors.

• Strong capabilities in troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, and customer engagement.

• Ability to develop and present technical solutions to various levels within customer organizations.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.

• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites within the designated territory.
