This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create high-quality designs for protection schemes applicable to various T&D substations, Data Centers, Industrial, and BESS applications, including one-lines, three-lines, and AC/DC schematics in collaboration with drafters.
• Conduct peer reviews for fellow design team members to develop P&C designs, including protection single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, panel general arrangements, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Capable of producing and developing a range of P&C drawings: one-line protection and metering diagrams, tripping tables/matrices, logic diagrams, aux power DC and AC one-line diagrams, as well as relay protection and control schematics, metering, monitoring, and alarm schematics.
• Design optimized solutions with a focus on safety.
• Collaborate on P&C design with Electrical layout engineers and designers, Relay Setting Engineers, site managers, commissioning engineers, and field personnel.
• Liaise with vendors and manufacturers while reviewing technical documentation pertinent to P&C design.
• Communicate effectively with the Project Engineering Manager or Project P&C lead to address technical engineering and design issues.
• Carry out necessary design calculations for DC battery and charger sizing, voltage drop calculations, and auxiliary AC power design.
• Develop and support the creation of FAT and SAT procedures.
• Engage in engineering and constructability reviews of P&C deliverables for your projects.
• Actively contribute to the enhancement of design procedures and quality by offering innovative insights.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• Proven presentation skills.
• Understanding of IEC 61850 processes and system bus architecture, particularly in their application to substations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Self-driven with outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
• Familiarity with power system analysis software, including ETAP and Aspen Oneliner, for relay coordination, load flows, short circuit, and arc flash studies.
• Knowledge of NERC-CIP standards and guidelines related to Cyber Security and Grid Interconnection.
• Experience in resolving technical problems effectively.
