Technical Service Specialist – Mercedes‑Benz Düsseldorf, Bremen

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide application engineering support and on-site assistance at customer facilities for Mercedes‑Benz in Düsseldorf and Bremen, while also serving as a nationwide resource.

• Address and respond to technical inquiries related to applications concerning products and processes.

• Plan, execute, and assess application-related trials at customer locations to evaluate processes and materials, including thorough documentation of tests, outcomes, and conclusions.

• Independently manage, evaluate, and resolve customer complaints and claims.

• Conduct root-cause analysis of issues and devise appropriate optimization strategies based on practical insights and established product management guidelines.

• Provide application engineering support for the launch of new products, systems, and technologies in close collaboration with Marketing, Product Management, and Sales.

• Lead and engage in relevant projects (with OEMs) — an advantage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed vocational training as a paint/coating laboratory technician, advanced training as a paint technician or master painter, or a similar qualification, along with relevant professional experience.

• Several years of professional experience working directly at customer plants.

• Familiarity with equipment and painting/coating processes in automotive manufacturing plants or their suppliers.

• Strong product-related knowledge and skills (both conventional and water-based systems).

• Excellent comprehension and analytical abilities paired with a solution-focused mindset and quick responsiveness.

• Effective communication skills.

• Above-average commitment and adaptability.

• Convincing and dependable demeanor when interacting with customers.

• Proficiency in German and good command of English.

• Strong application-related IT skills.
