Technical Project Manager – Network Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Take full responsibility for the end-to-end execution of cross-team network infrastructure projects in the APAC region, transforming ambiguous problem statements into actionable plans for implementation.

• Define project scope and success metrics, coordinate with owners from SRE, SWE, network, security, platform, and data center teams, and ensure decisions are finalized.

• Evaluate designs and technical proposals, identify missing assumptions, and highlight potential failure modes, dependencies, and risks early in the process.

• Monitor dependencies and risks across teams and time zones, keeping stakeholders, including those in Europe, updated with transparent and clear status reports.

• Promote the adoption of tools and workflows to establish them as the standard operational practices, supported by documentation, runbooks, and feedback mechanisms.

• Implement and manage streamlined project management practices throughout the region, focusing on planning, prioritization, reviews, and post-launch assessments.

• Collaborate with regional teams and external partners, including vendors and carriers, to deploy new network capabilities.

• Transform operational challenges and engineering insights into a well-defined, prioritized backlog.

• Possibly take ownership of initiatives related to secrets management, SLO frameworks, CI/CD for network devices, firmware consistency, device lifecycle hygiene, observability coverage, monitoring quality, alert ownership, and production readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in technical project management, engineering management, or a hands-on engineering role (SRE, SWE, network, or infrastructure), with a proven history of delivering complex cross-team infrastructure projects.

• A solid engineering background: you have designed and operated production systems, earning the trust of highly technical teams.

• Capability to read design documents and technical proposals, comprehend trade-offs, and pose insightful questions regarding reliability, rollback, blast radius, and failure modes.

• Strong grasp of infrastructure fundamentals (Linux, networking, automation, CI/CD) at a level that allows for meaningful contributions in technical discussions.

• Demonstrated ability to drive decision-making and provide clarity in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments without formal authority.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document plans and decisions and influence technically savvy individuals.

• Capacity to work autonomously in a startup environment and establish processes from the ground up.

• Professional working proficiency in English (both spoken and written) and comfort in collaborating across various time zones.

• Experience with network infrastructure, network automation, observability, or network device lifecycle management is a plus.

• Familiarity with SLO/SLI frameworks, incident management, or production readiness processes is an added advantage.

• Knowledge of CI/CD or change management for network or other high-risk infrastructure is beneficial.

• Experience in delivering projects with distributed teams across APAC time zones is a bonus.

• Background in secrets and access management, firmware rollout, or fleet-wide operational initiatives is an added bonus.

• Hands-on engineering contributions such as scripts, tooling, or automation in conjunction with project work are a plus.
