This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Take ownership of infrastructure across all environments, from production to development.
• Develop a cloud-agnostic Infrastructure-As-Code framework as we grow.
• Manage and execute deployments across all environments.
• Contribute to the infrastructure architecture and establish best practices for the applications we deploy.
• Create software tools and systems for automating, exploring, and reporting on our infrastructure.
• Automate the collection and analysis of metrics from distributed systems to aid in performance tuning and issue resolution.
• Design and implement essential infrastructure components utilized by all engineering teams (e.g., dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration, etc.).
• Provision accounts and necessary equipment.
• Write and maintain comprehensive technical specifications and diagrams.
• Conduct root-cause analyses of under-performing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers by diving into code and logs when technical challenges arise.
• Develop proofs of concept as required.
• Stay updated on engineering best practices, design principles, technology, security, and compliance to apply that knowledge to all responsibilities mentioned above.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Over 2 years of experience as a Technical Operations Engineer or in a comparable technical operations position (e.g., DevOps, NetOps, SecOps, SysAdmin, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineer).
• Strong expertise in engineering with Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Experience in engineering infrastructure for a SaaS product/platform.
• Experience in developing cloud-based infrastructure.
• Familiarity with engineering infrastructure utilizing message/event queues.
• Competence in engineering infrastructure with containers.
• Proficient in using Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with various frameworks, databases, services, and tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working as part of a highly collaborative engineering team.
• Experience in direct communication with clients.
• Valid authorization to work in the US.
