Technical Leader – SCADA/HMI, Cybersecurity, Network Equipment, IEC61850

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical design, development, and implementation of solution architectures from the presales phase through to delivery.

• Propel the execution of Distribution Automation, Process Bus Digital Substations, Cybersecurity, and Top-Down Engineering Solutions offerings.

• Work closely with business development and sales teams to assess customer requirements and convert them into technical specifications.

• Direct technical project activities from the design phase to commissioning.

• Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and the project execution team.

• Facilitate customer kickoff meetings, clarify specifications, and conduct design review sessions.

• Engage in project risk and opportunity evaluations.

• Manage engineering task budgets regarding allocated man-days.

• Provide regular progress reports and collaborate with the Project Manager on planning, risk management, and change requests.

• Analyze customer specifications and prepare project technical documentation.

• Validate technical solutions with customers to ensure compliance with project document control.

• Specify software and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) and oversee technical execution planning.

• Ensure compliance with GE Vernova safety standards.

• Address technical discrepancies and manage fault reports.

• Support site engineers both remotely and on-site.

• Lead Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.

• Coordinate with commissioning teams for significant site milestones.

• Provide training specific to projects for customers.

• Assist tendering and commercial teams.

• Present solutions and support demonstrations, pilots, and proof-of-concepts.

• Ensure customer satisfaction through professional execution of projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Digital Protection & Control Systems or Energy Management Solutions design engineering for utilities and industrial sectors.

• Relevant expertise in Electric Power Distribution Automation, Process Bus, Substation Digitization, Monitoring & Diagnostics, Asset Performance Management, Device Management, or Cybersecurity Management.

• Skilled in designing and programming electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, cybersecurity, network equipment, IEC61850, and firewalls.

• Proficient in English.

• Willingness to travel 30% within the U.S. and Canada.

• Comprehensive knowledge of automation electrical control systems, SCADA/DCS systems, and networking communication protocols.

• Experience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration.

• Familiar with industry standards and regulations pertaining to Grid Automation.

• Certifications in relevant technologies, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional or Certified Protection Professional, are preferred.

• A Professional Engineering license is also preferred.

• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, where applicable.
