This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
β’ Lead teams in the development and delivery of federated co-folding models.
β’ Construct and deploy machine learning applications in the field of structural biology.
β’ Take ownership of project delivery against set milestones, ensuring the release of high-quality models.
β’ Convert vague scientific and technical objectives into well-defined plans, priorities, and decisions.
β’ Guide evaluation processes and create deliverables for external stakeholders.
β’ Identify risks, obstacles, and technical trade-offs, providing clear recommendations.
β’ Align the objectives, evaluation criteria, and delivery expectations among consortium members.
β’ PhD, MSc, or equivalent qualifications in a relevant discipline.
β’ Over 5 years of experience applying machine learning to intricate scientific or biological issues.
β’ Practical experience with contemporary machine learning systems using Python and PyTorch.
β’ Familiarity with or experience in large-scale models such as OpenFold, AlphaFold, Boltz, ESM, or similar technologies.
β’ Background in MLOps or ML infrastructure, particularly with Kubernetes-based workflows.
β’ Capability to establish success criteria, validate model quality, and ensure reliable ML releases.
β’ Proven experience in leading the delivery of complex machine learning projects.
β’ Ability to function as a player-coach: mentoring engineers and ML scientists while also contributing directly.
