Staff Engineer – API & Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create and manage production TypeScript APIs that support high-traffic cinema applications: exhibitor websites, mobile applications, online ticketing, showtime listings, and business intelligence dashboards.

• Develop and execute new data ingestion strategies.

• Design and refine PostgreSQL schemas tailored for complex domains.

• Utilize GCP-native tools such as Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, Eventarc, BigQuery, Cloud Logging, and Pub/Sub.

• Participate in event-driven and agent-based systems, including AI-enhanced features developed using our proprietary data.

• Influence technical choices through RFCs and code reviews, while mentoring mid-level engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building production backend systems, with extensive knowledge in TypeScript/Node.js.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimization, migrations, and transactional logic.

• Practical experience with GCP (or equivalent cloud services) — including Cloud Run, BigQuery, IAM, and networking.

• Comfortable with a full-stack approach: capable of managing a feature from the database to the UI when necessary. Familiarity with React and TanStack is highly advantageous.

• Strong foundations in engineering principles: testing, observability, security, and performance.
