This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute on-site installation of systems and equipment, along with ongoing preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibration following installation.
• Lead outage crews, including but not limited to crafts, union technicians, and onsite service teams.
• Address requests for emergency repairs and services related to malfunctioning equipment.
• Offer technical guidance and support to customer representatives concerning installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer locations.
• Carry out administrative responsibilities such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, obtaining quotations, preparing job status reports, customer reports, and completing time and expense sheets in a timely and thorough manner.
• Approve all changes that are implemented.
• Foster customer satisfaction through a commitment to quality.
• Uphold a strong safety mindset to ensure all work performed aligns with the technical requirements of GE Vernova safety standards.
• Possess the knowledge to troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance checkouts for a wide range of equipment vintages.
• Create timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages.
• Ensure all necessary parts for the job are delivered to the site.
• Conduct walk-downs during installation to verify that the customer’s contractors are performing appropriately.
• Implement aftermarket upgrades that need to be executed at the site level.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited College or University with 3+ years of relevant experience in Power Plant Maintenance, Turbine Maintenance, or Power Plant Equipment Installation or Commissioning; alternatively, a High School Diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel 80% of the year to and from projects and various field assignments as needed.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
• Successful completion of required training programs is a prerequisite.
• Proven knowledge and experience to actively support an outage and know where to seek answers to questions as they come up.
• Ability and dedication to providing excellent customer service to both external and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience with successful installations and outages.
• Familiarity and training on GE, Alstom, Siemens, or other OEM equipment is preferred.
• Extensive Field Engineering Services experience is essential.
