Technical Engineering Manager – Cloud, Dev Ops

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical leadership across cloud, DevOps, platform engineering, and infrastructure projects.

• Guide architectural and design choices for cloud-native and distributed systems.

• Promote best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, observability, security, and reliability.

• Engage in architecture reviews, technical evaluations, design discussions, and proof-of-concept activities.

• Assist technical leads in overcoming intricate engineering challenges and discovering scalable solutions.

• Keep abreast of emerging cloud technologies, DevOps methodologies, and industry trends.

• Lead and mentor diverse teams that include DevOps Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Automation Engineers, Technical Leads, and other engineering professionals.

• Guide and develop technical leaders, aiding in career advancement and succession planning.

• Oversee performance reviews, feedback processes, promotions, and professional development strategies.

• Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance engineering environment.

• Effectively address team challenges, conflicts, and performance issues.

• Take ownership of delivery outcomes across one or more client engagements.

• Ensure the successful execution of projects, managed services, and time-and-materials engagements.

• Manage scope, timelines, quality, release management, operational readiness, and post-production support.

• Track and enhance engineering delivery metrics, including DORA metrics, cycle time, throughput, reliability, and operational performance.

• Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, blockers, and escalation pathways.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor and primary technical contact for clients.

• Lead technical reviews, architecture discussions, operational assessments, and executive presentations.

• Communicate delivery status, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Assist in solutioning activities, estimates, Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and growth opportunities.

• Support resource planning, staffing, utilization, and forecasting efforts.

• Balance technical excellence with delivery obligations and business goals.

• Contribute to the financial well-being and operational success of client engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.

• More than 3 years of experience in leading engineering teams and technical leaders.

• Strong expertise with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience in supporting cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven systems, and modern application platforms.

• Proven track record in managing delivery across multiple teams or workstreams.

• Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in reviewing technical solutions and guiding architectural decisions.

• Professional-level English communication skills (B2+/C1).
