This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and enhance the technical vision by building upon an established GCP architecture (Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud SQL) while facilitating integration with a contemporary Angular-based SPA.
• Lead architectural decision-making throughout the stack, ensuring that scalability, performance, and maintainability are prioritized in a real-time, stateful system.
• Enhance delivery health by assessing feasibility, identifying risks early on, and refining project scope to enable sustainable execution.
• Mentor and support a senior, multi-disciplinary engineering team; engage actively in sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and architectural evaluations.
• Maintain high code quality across both backend and frontend systems, focusing on state management, rendering performance, and adherence to accessibility standards.
• Serve as the technical liaison among Engineering, Design, Strategy, and Production—translating AI capabilities into actionable product and user experience decisions.
• Collaborate with clients and external teams in the role of a senior technical advisor, effectively communicating complex systems and influencing strategic direction.
• Work closely with the Executive Technical Director to ensure robust alignment between technical strategy and client partnerships.
• Establish best practices for AI-augmented engineering, guiding the responsible use of tools like Gemini, Cursor, or Claude Code to expedite development.
• Leverage extensive expertise in Full-stack development, Systems Architecture, and GCP to scale a complex, distributed system.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a Technical Director, Principal Engineer, or Architect leading complex, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Profound full-stack fluency, with the capability to guide frontend architecture (TypeScript, Angular/React/Vue) and backend systems (Python, asynchronous processing, distributed services).
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python, with the ability to contribute across the stack as necessary.
• Advanced experience in architecting and deploying systems on GCP, including containerized microservices, database design (SQL/NoSQL), and DevOps/IaC practices (Terraform).
• Experience in bringing generative AI systems into production, with insights into latency, orchestration, and multi-agent architectures.
• A solid foundation in security, deployment, monitoring, and systems operations at scale.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with practical decision-making to facilitate efficient team progress.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders and promote cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience working within delivery frameworks, ensuring visibility into timelines, budgets, staffing, and technical risks.
• Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as Angular (preferred), React, or Vue, along with a strong understanding of complex state management.
• Solid grasp of accessibility standards and frontend performance considerations.
• Familiarity with generative AI technologies (LLMs, agentic systems) and contemporary AI-augmented engineering workflows.
• A collaborative, low-ego leadership approach, capable of partnering across various disciplines and navigating through ambiguity.
• This engagement spans from June 1 to October 9 at 40 hours per week.
• There is an intention to convert to a full-time position if there is a strong mutual fit.
