Technical Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish and convey a distinct technical vision, ensuring adherence to best practices in architecture, software development, and emerging technologies. Serve as the ultimate authority in crucial design and delivery choices.

• Act as a trusted consultant to CIOs, CTOs, and senior stakeholders. Facilitate discovery workshops, convert business objectives into technical strategies, and create customized solution proposals.

• Supervise technical execution to guarantee quality, scalability, and maintainability. Track project health, identify risks, and ensure successful results through proactive leadership.

• Collaborate with resourcing teams to ensure optimal talent is assigned to projects. Cultivate a culture of excellence, mentorship, and innovation across teams.

• Manage project burn-down, optimize resource distribution, and pinpoint revenue growth opportunities while maintaining financial accountability.

• Stay informed about industry trends, contribute to open-source projects, and engage in public speaking, blogging, and mentorship. Advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and sustainability initiatives within Nearform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in technical leadership, preferably in consulting, SaaS, or large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

• Extensive knowledge in software architecture, cloud platforms, and contemporary development practices.

• Proven history of guiding technical decisions on intricate, high-impact projects.

• Experience leading pre-sales, discovery, and solution design discussions.

• Strong capability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• A consultative approach, capable of aligning business needs with technical strategies.

• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills to influence at all levels.

• Practical experience with AI, databases, distributed systems, and modern software engineering best practices.

• Experience in leading and mentoring senior software development teams.
