This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +4 more countries.
β’ Manage the strategic and operational aspects of Construction & Energy Certification operations.
β’ Direct certification processes within the Construction and Energy product domains.
β’ Ensure compliance with accreditation standards while fostering strong client relationships.
β’ Guarantee that team roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities are met with exceptional service.
β’ Assess team performance and manage it accordingly.
β’ Provide thought leadership and engage with the industry across both sectors.
β’ Meet operational delivery targets, achieve commercial success, and fulfill measurable KPIs.
β’ Offer strategic and technical guidance throughout certification activities.
β’ Keep abreast of regulatory, technological, and market trends to identify opportunities for enhancing certification services.
β’ Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders, trade organizations, committees, and external authorities.
β’ Represent BSI at industry events, exhibitions, seminars, and technical forums.
β’ Contribute to the Product Certification strategy and advise the PC Management and Leadership Team.
β’ Maintain technical integrity and ensure accreditation compliance.
β’ Lead client projects to achieve quality, service, operational, and commercial objectives.
β’ Take responsibility for P&L, financial planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and cost management.
β’ Monitor operational and commercial KPIs to enhance performance, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
β’ Support the development and rollout of new certification products and services.
β’ Mentor and advance the capabilities of certification and technical professionals.
β’ Set direction and goals for team leaders.
β’ Identify capability needs, succession planning opportunities, and development requirements.
β’ Implement performance management, coaching, and development processes.
β’ Guide teams through organizational, technological, and market transitions.
β’ Extensive experience in product testing, assessment, certification, or conformity assessment related to Construction Products or Energy Products (Gas or Electrical).
β’ In-depth knowledge of pertinent product legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements.
β’ Profound understanding of international best practices and accreditation standards, particularly ISO 17065 and ISO 17025.
β’ Proven experience leading skilled technical professionals, including managers and specialists.
β’ Demonstrated ability to cultivate new business areas, certification services, or technical capabilities within a global organization.
β’ Experience managing budgets, financial planning, forecasting, and commercial performance.
β’ Skilled in engaging with industry associations, regulators, accreditation bodies, and senior external stakeholders.
β’ Strong strategic thinker, capable of translating market, regulatory, and technological changes into business opportunities.
β’ Exceptional communication and influencing abilities, with the credibility to engage effectively with technical experts, senior leadership, clients, and external industry stakeholders.
β’ A relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience.
