Technical Bid Manager – Professional Services

📋 Description

• In the Arista Networks Professional Services organization, the Bid Manager (BM) plays a crucial role in executing the PS Pre-Sales process, requiring both sales and technical expertise to oversee requirements gathering, scoping, and estimating efforts for Arista solutions.

• The PS Bid Manager (BM) operates under the guidance of the PS Business Development Manager (BDM) and the PS Strategic Delivery Advisor (SDA), managing the daily operations of the PS pre-sales process.

• Key responsibilities encompass hands-on operational tasks essential for accurately scoping, estimating, and tracking opportunities from the initial request to contract booking, ensuring that Kantata and PS pre-sales documents are consistently updated, and coordinating responses to requests for proposals, statements of work, contracts, and quotes related to PS opportunities, as well as managing documentation approval workflows with legal and facilitating transitions to project delivery.

• Success is measured by meeting SLAs, ensuring Sales Team satisfaction, maintaining accuracy and completeness in pre-sales documentation, and achieving various internal and external customer satisfaction metrics.

• Opportunity Triage & Processing: Efficiently handles multiple simultaneous requests by processing and prioritizing service requests from Sales and Partners.

• System & Database Maintenance: Responsible for setting up and keeping Kantata up-to-date based on SFDC Opportunity information, while ensuring the accuracy of database information on all opportunities for forecasting purposes.

• Scoping, Estimating & Pricing: Strategically defines the project scope-of-work, RACI matrices, estimates, and pricing to meet precise customer specifications, and is responsible for maintaining updated metrics for internal and external rates necessary for quoting and scoping projects. Oversees RFP coordination and submissions.

• Document Generation & Approval Routing: Manages the processing of RFP responses generated by the BDMs, creates Statements of Work (SOWs), contracts, and secures legal approvals, ensuring all necessary approvals and coordination are completed prior to submitting Custom SOWs and CPQ quotes against the LOE Sheet.

• Pipeline Reporting: Maintains accurate forecast data based on SFDC sales stages, close dates, and Kantata data.

• Resource Coordination & Handoffs: Engages with department heads to assign personnel to opportunities ready for resource allocation and delivery. Once a deal is finalized, conducts project handoff and kickoff meetings with the PS Project Delivery Lead and technical teams.

• Communication & Administration: Establishes timely written communication with team members and provides regular status updates to ensure effective information dissemination.

• Tools and Processes: Maintains internal PS tools and templates to streamline the intake process.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience managing high-tech professional services (technical services, advanced services) projects, performing PS bid management or project management functions.

• At least 5+ years in an integration or OEM environment focused on selling or managing the delivery of large-scale networking projects (Data Center, Campus (Wifi), SDWAN) within the Enterprise or Service Provider markets.

• Excellent writing and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach.

• Preferred experience in bid management from a competitor of Arista Networks.

• Proficiency in G Suite Tools, Kantata, and SalesForce CRM is required.

• Preferred Education: Technical Degree (e.g., Bachelor of Science) or equivalent, along with ongoing training/certifications in network vendor products.

• PMI or project management-related certifications are advantageous.
